Taking a tiny break at work, since I'm alone and just got through dealing with a pit who opened his tail up by wagging it too hard against the walls of his kennel, making it bleed and thus, spattering the kennel, the hall, the floor, me, himself, the outside yard, and the treatment room with blood, in festive spatters, drips, and smears. Made it look like I'd gone psycho through the hospital. I had to bandage it. The first time, I did it wrong - I've only just learned how to properly bandage, after all - and so... he wagged and shook his tail again, and *schwoop!* off it came. He sprayed everything again, because I'd just finished cleaning it up from the first time.

Rebandaged. The right way this time. Cleaned up. Again. Refrained from throttling the empty-headed mongrel. Nice enough dog, but no brains. My tail hurts, I'm going to shake it and smack it around even more! OW! My tail hurts, I'm gonna... etc.

Ahem. Yes! Other news.
I managed to get some pics scanned! Only one new one, really, from this art exchange I joined. I even *gasp* tried coloring it.

Those musk-oxen all cleaned up.
Raurackl - jackalope
Sojourner N'pch - kangaroo

And a little bit on art exchanges. I'm a little bummed, for two reasons. I'd joined the ungulate exchange, and was kind of excited. But the end of the month has come and gone, and whomever had me hasn't posted a pic. Granted, I only posted mine the last day, and there's 2 who've said they'll be getting theirs done soon and posted quickly, but I was still a bit let down. I'm not angry, just... deflated. Anticipating, you know? I'm sure I'll get my pic soon, and I'll probably like it. Just grumbling on my part, I suppose.

I'd always been too chicken to try joining art exchanges before this, not feeling my skill level was close to what I saw coming out of some of the people on them - not to mention the whole scanner issue - but right now I'm trying to find ways of making myself draw more often, even with work and school. I was pretty pleased with the fact that I got this pic not only done but colored, even if I wasn't happy with the job I did. It may not look like it, but that took me hours. I was even willing to absorb the cost - since I don't have a scanner, and have no access to one at school anymore, I have to pay to get stuff scanned at a Kinko's or other printing place. Well, Kinko's was out, since they said I'd have to tear stuff out of my sketchbook, and it would be $10 a scan. I found a smaller print place where I got a much better deal - $10 for the CD they saved everything to, and a pittance per scan. I got 5 scanned and on a disk for $12.50 Hot damn, I think, I'm in business. Maybe I'll even join a second exchange. Well, evidently they'd made an error, because when I went back to get the color pic scanned, they said it was $10 a scan, plus the ten for the CD, but they'd give me the other price one more time. I said thanks, and thought "Crap. There goes the plan." Since it would now cost me a minimum of $20, I don't think I'll be doing any more exchanges. *sighs*

Well, back to work. Hopefully that bandage has held. Tails are hellacious to bandage.
